If you are looking to begin a career in a technology based trade, National Broadband offers you a 5-6 week paid training program, providing all of the information for you to learn the trade of installation of digital TV, high speed Internet and phone. For the most effective learning experience possible, National Broadband focuses not only on classroom instruction, but also on hands-on practice and field training that encompasses actual customer interaction, service installation and troubleshooting. During classroom training, you will have the opportunity to become certified in either NCTI or SCTE, which are nationally recognized certifications in the cable industry. Other key aspects of our course include ladder training, customer service, quality control and a strong emphasis on safety.

Individuals who have had previous experience in this trade, can be offered a customized training option over a shorter period of time. This alternative path allows for individuals to update their skill set to the latest standards and specifications. VEHICLE

Is a company vehicle provided?

No. For this position, you will need a truck, van or SUV capable of carrying a 28ft extension ladder.

Is a valid driver's license required?

Yes. This position requires driving.

EXPERIENCE

Do I need previous experience in this trade?

No. National Broadband is looking for people who have an outstanding work ethic and a desire to enter into the telecommunications industry.

WAGES

What is the pay for this position?

We offer minimum wage during training.

BACKGROUND CHECK

Is there a background check as part of the hiring process?

Yes. We conduct a motor vehicle report, criminal background and drug screening.

MISC

What are the hours for this position?

We do ask for open availability with all trainees to mirror the trainers schedule.

Do I need to provide my own tools?

No, National Broadband offers a tool program that allows you to be assigned necessary materials. However, you are required to provide your own work boots with a 1" heel and ankle support.

What are typical working conditions?

The essential responsibilities of the position requires not only indoor work, but outdoor work as well. You will experience high heat environments, confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and heights up to 28ft. You must be able to work safely in all-weather elements.

Does your company offer benefits?

No. The position is temporary employment, lasting approximately 5-6 weeks.

Is there travel involved?

Some travel is required during classroom training.

What is the next step after training?

Individuals who successfully complete the training course are eligible to become certified independent contract cable installers.
